1993-1995 Project Manager (Team Leader), NESPAK-MMI
To improve the performance of Drainage Sector, a Feasibility study for “National Drainage Program Phase-1” was carried out for the World Bank. It included institutional and policy reforms, identification of desired research in drainage, improved operation and maintenance, beneficiary participation, and rehabilitation and improvement of existing drainage facilities.
1991-93 Project Manager (Team Leader), NESPAK
`Pakistan Drainage Sector Environmental Assessment’, a World Bank study was the first of its kind in the country and required macro assessment at the system level leading to the preparation of conceptual framework for future planning in drainage sector in an environmentally sound manner. As Team Leader, carried out detailed impact analysis of drainage technologies, co-coordinated activities among various specialties, edited and compiled the report and conducted training seminars. 1989-1991 General Manager (Water) West, WAPDA

As the first Director General of the International Water logging and Salinity Research Institute IWASRI developed infrastructure facilities; prepared and guided research program in fields of Drainage Engineering, Water Management and Soil Reclamation etc.
1984-1985 Chief Engineer (Floods), Federal Flood Commission Scrutiny of flood protection schemes submitted by the Provincial Irrigation Departments and monitoring their implementation.
1982-1984 Project Director (Team Leader), WAPDA
WAPDA signed an agreement with the World Bank to act as Consultant for feasibility study of `Command Water Management Pilot Project’ for Pakistan and I was appointed as its Team Leader. The assignment included planning of comprehensive irrigation and water management pilot projects inclusive of institutional arrangements to optimize agriculture production.
1970-1982 Project Director Planning, WAPDA
As head of a planning organization, which included disciplines of Engineering, Hydrology, Soils, Agronomy, Water Quality, Hydro-geology and Economics, guided and prepared Feasibility and Project Planning Reports for Reclamation and Drainage Projects for agricultural development and control of water logging and salinity. These in addition to many details included, evaluation and interpretation of hydrologic and water quality data for conjunctive use of surface and ground water resources, evaluation of the present irrigation system and its future requirements and how and where to utilize the additional supplies, etc.
